Ginko Biloba Side Effects

Sources differ somewhat when talking about ginko biloba side effects. Of course, I always err toward the worst case scenario and just pay attention to what my body is telling me. Ginko seems to be safe; even clinical trials in animal studies have shown high doses to be without harmful effects. But another source does indicate that too much concentrated ginko extract, meaning in excess of 240 milligrams a day, can cause dermititus, diarrhea and vomiting. The suggested daily dosage of concentrated extract is only 120 milligrams per day. Less harmful side effects that are reported from a large sample size of people studies into the 90s indicated that ginko can cause gastrointestinal discomfort, headaches and dizziness, and allergic reactions. (I like to add my personal note that I always wince when I have to report the results of testing on animals - I do not like that the animals had to go through the lives that they did with numerous painful tests and stressful living conditions. But I will report it so that people can continually be appreciative of what another being went through in order to help a human life.)
