It seems that growing a Eucaliptus tree from a stem cutting of a grown tree may be a very hard process. I have seen a post that it will not, in fact, work. However, the following website gives you information to try. There are many types of Eucaliptus, so maybe your species will be able to thrive given the right circumstances.
Try this website for plant propogation with cuttings: http://www.ces.ncsu.edu/depts/hort/hil/hil-8702.html. Good luck!
