A little research would show that pepermint oil is not a good choice to take while pregnant. There are certain herbs that one is suggested to steer away from because they can work against pregnancy. Herbs with strong volatile oil like pepermint, can irritate the baby's central nervous system. Other herbs with strong alkaloids, like goldenseal, poke root, and blue cohosh should also be avoided because they have strong physiological effects on the body.
A pregnant woman's body has a slower metabolism. So ingesting herbs during that time means they'll stay in the system longer and be absorbed more. A trained Naturopath would be helpful during this time so you are able to help yourself during this time, but not harm yourself or your baby.
In "The Women's Book of Healing Herbs" Dr. Mary Bove suggests that women avoid herbal remedies during the first trimester as there are so many things that are changing and tenuous.
One mild herb that may help with digestive problems is fennel. Fennel tea bags are available in most health food stores.
