Feline herpies is very noticable around breeding season when the males are wearing themselves down through territory maintenance and female wooing. You'll see their eyes become gunky or weepy and they may also have some congestion and nasal discharge. But toms are not the only ones that suffer from feline herpies. All cats can acquire the virus and when their immune system is down, it will replicate and produce symptoms.

I always start my cats on goldenseal and astragalus for helping their immune systems fight back. I'll use 1/4 of a capsule AM and PM for a week and start to see results. L-Lysine is an important amino acid that can bind to the receptor sites of herpies viruses keeping another amino acid away that is needed for replication. When herpies is raging, I'll give 500mg in the morning and night. If I have a cat who is prone to herpies outbreaks, I'll give him 100 mg a day.
