Ayerveda is about finding balance in your life. If you are overweight, then somewhere along the line an imbalance has occurred. Take a realistic approach to your situation; there's no magic or voodoo involved - just a long hard look at what your lifestyle is like and why you've become who you are. The initial steps advised in Ayerveda for weight loss are the same strategies given by any common sense approach - monitor and change your food intake and balance this with exercise.
Until the commitment has been made to these initial steps, herbal supplements will do little to make an overwhelming change. Research your dosha and find out what may be the exercise best suited to your body type as well as which foods will make you the most balanced. Many sites exist online with questions available to help you figure out how to balance your systems - just look for tests on dosha systems. But remember there is no quick fix for losing weight; it's about self-determination and self-control. It will lead to loads of self-confidence when you are successful.
