Hemroids are another name for varicose veins that occur in the rectum or outside the anus. The problem occurs when blood pools in the veins because of vein wall weakness or pressure within the veins. Deep breathing and exercise are two important ways of aiding the circulation of blood through the veins so that they are working properly. There are some helpful herbal treaments for hemroids, as well.

Horsetail and knotgrass, taken as tea, contain silica which helps strengthen the tissue supporting the veins. Nettles also contain silica and can be taken by eating it like any food. Bioflavonoids help keep vein walls strong and are constituents of several herbs, like hawthorn, yarrow, shepherd's purse, and buckwheat. Make infusions with those. Use a compress with rue or witch hazel to introduce bioflavonoids in another fashion.
