Alo vera - the name is synonomous with healing and soothing. Its probably the only herb I used, even as a young person, and never questioned it because it was so ingrained in society. I did not buy sunscreen without also throwing in a bottle of alo vera. Green. The commercials even gave you an idea of what the stuff was, showing the plant and its excretions. This rarely happened with other marketed herbs. Alo vera, in fact, has been used since prehistoric times for burns and skin rashes. Wow! Pictures of the plant and its uses were found in cave drawings of Africa. This may be one of the reasons that even allopathic medicine sees alo vera as a useful healing agent.
