Echinasia

Echinasia is another herb that I use with cats. It can be just as useful helping them through a stressful time as with humans. It is an immune booster, so be careful not to use it with a cat that is already immuno-compromised. For example, I do not use it with my cats that have allergies and seem to have hyperactive immune systems already. With those cats, I have to use herbs that are immuno-regulators, like astragalus, not echinasia.

But, with my otherwise normal cats, I use echinasia when the weather is starting to change quickly and I know there are a few that are prone to colds and herpes virus infections. I'll put three drops of echinasia tincture into their food in the AM and PM and this helps bolster their bodies against onslaughts.
