Making slipery elm bark tea is simple. Use one teaspoon of powder and place 3 cups of boiling water over it for approximately 5 minutes. For digestive problems, this should be taken 1 to 2 times per day. This can be taken more for general illness to help nourish and strengthen patients.
A slipery elm bark poultice can be used to heal external wounds. A poultice is simply the parts of an herb plant used to make the remedy, in this case the bark, simmered for 2 minutes, squeezing out the liquid and then packed onto the infected area. This can be left on for several hours.
