With all of the hype, you may wonder if you should take Saint John's Wart. Why not feel happier, live lighter and not pay for expensive medications? But it really all depends on the person, as with anything one puts in the body. By listening to the body and how it reacts while taking an herb - this is the only way to really know if it is something for you. Saint John's Wart studies show that there are little side effects of this herb. This is good news considering how helpful it may be.

Studies have shown that Saint John's Wart can be as effective as some mild anti-depressant drugs without side effects. Even when some were reported, they seemed relatively mild, like stomach cramps, rashes and tiredness. Certainly, Saint John's Wart literature shows that it may not be helpful in severe depressive circumstances, but if mild depression is the problem, trying Saint John's Wart seems like a worthwhile method to improve one's health.
