There are just a few other benefits of gingko, believe it or not, that have not been mentioned. Its amazing what all this herbal remedy is used for. Gingko can help with altitude sickness, for example. It helps get blood to the brain by thinning it, since blood thickens at higher altitudes, and it helps the brain use oxygen more efficiently. This oxygen use reduces the amount of headaches and dizziness one may usually feel at high altitudes. The usual dose is 120 mg per day and take them starting several days before a trip.
Taking gingko extract just before menstruation begins is also helpful. It can relax the mind before menstruation begins and make you more clear headed. Also, gingko can help with varicose veins since it is so helpful in maintaining vein strength and creating better circulation.
