There are Gingko biloba side effects listed in several sources. In general, there have only been reports of minor effects like headaches, dizziness, allergic reactions and gastrointestinal upset. These side effects do not seem to be in a high percentage of people. However, there are warnings about using gingko biloba with different prescription drugs.
Literature warns against taking gingko biloba with antidepressant MAO inhibitor drugs, aspirin or any other NSAIDs. Also, do not use gingko biloba if you are taking blood thinning drugs; warfarin is always listed in the cautions for blood thinning drugs. The recommended dose per day is 120 mg and doses over that may lead to dermititis, diarrhea, and vomiting.
