Homopathy

Homopathy is a subtle way of helping the body to work effectively in order to combat illness. It is a relatively new natural remedy, dating to the end of the 18th century. A German doctor of the time, Samuel Hahnemann, refused to adhere to the practices of the time which seemed barbaric to him and concentrated on trying to understand the workings of natural substances to help the human body and mind. His discoveries led him to believe that by inducing the body to react to an illness or problem then the body would be able to better deal with it and irradicate it. So, basically, he believed in stimulating our own immune system to work effectively.

Homopathic remedies are diluted many times over from many different sources of natural substances - animals, plants, minerals, etc. By the last quarter of the 20th century, homopathy was gaining in popularity and support for its efficacy.
