New research shows that cinnimon can affect blood sugar and thus help diabetics with Type II diabetes. Type II diabetes happens when cells become inable to process insulin which is important for removing glucose from the bloodstream. Studies show that cinnimon is able to help the fat cells in the body process insulin and thus remove excess glucose from the blood. The recommended dosage for diabetics is 1/4 to 1 teaspoon of cinnimon per day.

Another benefit is that cinnimon contains a significant source of magnesium which is a substance that diabetics may have a hard time absorbing and can lead to complications. Other nutrients are added to the body with the use of cinnimon.
