Cinnimon as medicine is an appropriate use for this herb. It has been used throughout the centuries, first native to the far east and then brought into use by the Middle East, Europe and Africa. The first written information about cinnimon appeared in the Torah, a Jewish religious book. Cinnimon is known to help ease the symptoms associated with illnesses from bacteria and viruses; these properties are largely due to cinnimon's volatile oils. Japanese research also shows that cinnimon can act like a sedative and an analgesic and maybe even reduce high blood pressure and high fevers.
There is new evidence that cinnimon can help regulate the blood sugar which can be very helpful for people with diabetes. Its also helpful to women specifically by encouraging the onset of menstruation.
