Many herbal suppliments for menopause are out there to help alleviate the symptoms that go with this time in a woman's life. There are even suppliments that help prepare your body for the upcoming events. Literature suggests that you start to use tonic herbs after age 30; dang gui helps the liver and endochrine system work effectively while lady's mantle helps regulate menstruation. Hawthorn infusions help keep your heart strong as you enter menopause since estrogen is important in strengthening your heart. Bone strength is another worry, so suggested herbal suppliments are red clover, oatstraw, and nettle leaves; raspberry leaves and horsetail also offer extra calcium.
For symptoms like hot flashes, black cohosh and motherwart are the norm, while night sweats may be tamed by sage. For mood swings, extra fluids are a must, along with help from scullcap and oatstraw. I suggest researching all of the options in herbal books especially for women, like "The Woman's Book of Healing Herbs".
