Herbal suppliments are an excellent way to promote healing and defend the body. Herbal suppliments come from plant parts that have constituents that make them useful in medicinal ways. Different plant parts are used with various plants, for instance, ginkgo users make infusions with the leaves while ginger users take the root in many forms. Some plants can even use all of its parts and may, in fact, be most useful this way since many components or chemicals of a plant need to be in the prescence of other components in order to work effectively. This is called synergy.

Herbal suppliments can be found in varying forms. Some countries do not have strict standards for manufacturing and selling herbal suppliments so it is important to investigate companies and their methods of herbal preparation. Extracts in pill form and tinctures are usually the most potent forms of herbal suppliments to take. Teas can be used in different ways to be helpful - drinking it, using in lotions, as a compress or wash, etc.
