Yohimbee

Yohimbee is a native West African tree. The bark is used to make herbal preparations that have historically been used as an aphrodisiac or as a cure for impotence. Unfortunately, the prescription drug made from yohimbee does not seem to be overly effective and does not even help 50% of the men that take the drug for its potential help. Herbal practitioners do suggest that the actual herb works better than the prescirption drug, which may very well be true since we know that some herbs are most effective when all of its constituents can act together and react to one another to produce beneficial effects.

There seems to be an optimum type of dosage to take, namely between 5 or 10 mg per day. More than that has proven to be ineffective and maybe even inhibitory. Sometimes, it takes awhile for people to respond to the effects of the herb. There are several warnings issued about using yohimbee.
