Tumeric may be a helpful remedy in treating sarcoidosis. There are many benefits to tumeric, not the least of which are that its anti-inflammatory, anti-cancinogic, an antioxident, and so many other adjectives that could be listed. The main characteristic that may be important is that tumeric is an anti-inflammatory. Sarcoidosis occurs when inflammation in the body produces tiny lumps of cells, granulomas, in the body's organs. When this happens the effectiveness of the organ in compromised.
Tumeric may be an effective healing herb for this disease as it has been shown to work just as well as cortisone in preventing inflammation. Cortisone can have nasty effects if used long term, so tumeric may be a healthful way to get the same results.
