Tumeric + psoriasis

Tumeric has been used in Ayurvedic medicine to treat psoriasis and other skin problems. The rhizome, or root, of tumeric is the part of the plant that is used for remedies and it is the powdered form that helps in making preparations. The powder can be rubbed on the skin where the problems are or another preparation is a paste made with coconut oil mixed with the powder. The latter is usually used with more severe skin ailments. Tumeric can cure a mild thing like pimples or be used to relieve the pain and itching associated with dermatitis, eczema, and psoriasis. Literature also suggests that tumeric be added to lime juice and water to make a paste for herpes sores, leprosy, measles, mumps, and chickpox. It has even been purported to work for animal bites and stings.
