Ginko bilboa is a tree that is used in herbal medicines by using its leaves as well as its seeds for preparations. The key constituents in these herbal preparations are flavonoids, ginkgolides, and bilobalids which lend many helpful properties to the remedies. Primarily, ginko bilboa is known as a stimulant for the cirulatory system. It is most often seen in the section for increasing mental function as it helps circulation to the brain tissue which can aid the memory and ability to concentrate.

It is possible, and studies have shown, that ginko bilboa may be able to treat mental aging problems like Alzheimer's.
