Dandylion

The dandylion plant has been used for centuries, both as a nutritous food and as an herbal remedy. Dandylion is most often seen as an important detoxifier and diuretic. The leaves and roots are used when making herbal preparations. Luckily, dandylion is a good diuretic because it offers the body enough potassium to make up for any that it helped flush out of the system initially. It can help women during menstruation or pregnancy who may be retaining water and want to feel more comfortable. Also, it may aid in reducing high blood pressure by reducing the amount of fluid in the body.
A simple way to take dandylion is to eat the leaves in a healthful salad. Other preparations are tinctures made from the dandylion root or pills made from dandylion extracts.
