Essential Oils

Essential oils is such a massive subject that I recommend having a few books of your own on hand. The combinations of remedies are so immense and understanding the effects of each component takes some research. I like using essential oils because its one of the easier ways to use herbal medicine. Buying high quality oils is the first step and opening the lid is the next. Well, having a good quality diffuser is also a suggestion. A tea light diffuser is cute, but I don't find that I get as much diffusion into the room unless I have an electric one with a fan. They are expensive, but well worth it.

I'll often make different combinations on a diffuser pad and then keep that pad in a labeled bag so I know what all was used for future reference. For days when I need to get out of a funk, bergamot and geranium are definitely at the top of my list. Lavendar, of course, helps after I get home or when I'm trying to nap. Clove and cinnamon create a wonderful atmosphere to accept guests into the home.
