Oil of Eucallyptus

The oil of eucallyptus, an aromatic evergreen tree native to Australia, is used in many herbal remedies. There are strict cautions about using herbal oils only in dilution to prevent toxicity, but eucallyptus is known to be somewhat safer and better tolerated by the skin, for example. Not only is eucallyptus an excellent antiseptic for the skin and internal tissues during colds and flu, but it is an energy boosting herb that can rev up your day after jet lag or a hard night. Simply inhale the fumes from a drop of oil rubbed in your palms, or put 5 drops in a couple cups of simmering water and place your head over the pot with a towel over your head. Instant energy and cleared sinuses to boot.

If you don't want to take the advice of the last post to take drops of eucallyptus in honey for coughs, throat lozenges are a common product available, as well as a nice infusion with 5 drops of oil per cup of water taken 3 times a day.
