Ti tree is a native plant to Australia. It has been used for years, but was brought into the mainstream by colonists who observed the herbal traditions of the Aborigines. Ti tree has a cascade of uses; its qualities include antiseptic, antibacterial, antifungal, antivirul, and an immune stimulant. It sounds like the perfect herbal remedy to have close at hand for most problems. As an essential oil, however, one must be careful about the full strength and be sure to dilute it, especially when taking internally as an infusion. It is normally taken this way for chronic infections like coughs, cystitis, and mono.
I always have liked to use ti tree as an inhalant. Especially when I have a sore throat or when my face is not getting through the summer without blemishes. Just be sure to close your eyes as it is a potent vapor that can sting for the first second.
