Jinseng

Jinseng is quite the popular herb now and then. It can be seen just about everywhere in our modern society, most notably in the new energy drinks. So is this a farse, a type of marketing hype? Possibly a bit overrated, jinseng may be in that form, but it's purported properties are rooted (ah, the pun) in traditional medicine, centuries old. Sources say that a dried jinseng root can be chewed just for an immediate energy boost. And that's without caffeine. But that would be one expensive boost, as the roots can cost upwards of $25,000 depending on the quality.

The cost comes from the long growing time of jinseng. The constituents that lend all of the fantastic properties to the herb do not become concentrated and thus useful until after four year's of growth.
