Birdock is a very important detoxifying herb with an impressive historical history dating back to the 1st century BC in China. A detoxifying herb is able to relieve the burden on the body so that it may perform more effectively and efficiently to rid the body of disease and strengthen its systems. Most parts of the birdock plant are used in remedies, the roots, leaves and fruits. The seeds are used to remove toxins from the body when it is being overrun by diseases such as mumps or or measles. An infusion of the seeds can also be used to treat acne and boils.
The seeds have shown to be anti-inflammatory and antioxident, as well as hepatoprotective - this means being helpful in supporting the liver.
