Lavendar flowers are the part of the Lavandula officinalis plant that are used to create aromatherapy products. The flowers are cultivated shortly after budding and before blooming. The flowers are beautiful, tiny purplish conglomerations on tall stems above the rest of the foliage.
The lavendar flowers have such a powerful scent even in the garden. After extracting the volatile oils from these flowers, then the properties of lavendar seem to be enhanced to aid in relaxing nervous tension and aiding in restful sleep. A tea can be made from the flowers, as well, and have a calmative effect both from the steam and the internal healing induced by the antibacterial and antiseptic qualities of lavendar.
