Ashwaganda may be a useful herb in the treatment of cancer or other illnesses in dogs. It is purported to work in animals much the same way it is historically seen to work in humans. There is scientific evidence done using rats and this is where much of the information has come from regarding ashwaganda's effectiveness against cancer growth. Supplements are available online that contain a melange of herbs, all used to support different systems or to aid as a general tonic.
Ashwanganda may serve as such a tonic, but it can also aid in improving the production of blood cells. It can also help with other diseases by acting as an anti-inflammatory in the dog's body. I suggest using your veterinarian's herbal products, researching the many online products and joining a newsgroup to get advice.
