Cure for Bacterial Prostatitus

Even though literary sources do not seem to address curing bacterial prostatitus through natural remedies, there seem to be numerous online sites that give information regarding infection of the prostate. Anti-inflammatory or antibacterial herbs, such as chamomile, echinacea, goldenseal or garlic are recommended. Cranberry is suggested since it makes an inhospitable environment in the urinary tract for bacteria. Herbs for stress management, like valarian and skullcap, can help relax the genito-urinary muscles.

Couch grass, watermelon seed, pippsissewa are natural diuretics that help the flow of urine, while buchu and saw palmetto help with their anti-microbial properties. There are other therapies out there for prostatitus, too, so I suggest a thorough research of all of the pros and cons for each suggestion, as well as joining a newsgroup online to toss ideas around with people who have been there and done that.
