Prostatitus

Prostatitus is the infection of the prostate gland. It should receive trained medical attention but some of the symptoms can be alleviated with herbal remedies. An infusion/decoction of the following herbs can alleviate the painful urination, groin or back pain, or fever that come from an infection. An infusion/decoction refers to the need to make a decoction first with the herbs that are roots or bark (one ounce per 1 pint of water, simmered for 30 minutes), add this entirely to the aerial parts (one ounce per pint of water) for 15 minutes of simmering. Strain the plant matter and drink one cupful, three times a day.

The herbs suggested are: 1 part each of bearberry, golden rod, gravel root, and couch grass, and 2 parts echinacea and horsetail.
