Fiber Psylium

The most popular brands of fiber supplements are, in fact, made with psylium seed husks. This seems to be a very useful supplement in helping with getting the plumbing to work well. In fact, in Chinese Traditional Medicine, psyilum is used for urinary tract infections by making an infusion preparation with the plant. This is the only time that the tea is indicated for use.

Usually ground psylium husks or seeds are placed in water and drank or capsules are taken. For constipation, take 1 to 2 teaspoons in a glass of water each day. For chronic diarrhea or irritable bowel, take this amount 2 to 3 times a day and follow with an extra glass of water. Poultices used to draw out infection from wounds can be made with 5 grams of powdered husks and applied three times per day.
