Psylium is a useful natural remedy for both constipation and diarrhea. Psylium can also be taken for other problems like irritable bowel syndrome, ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease. Psylium is also useful in helping ease hemorrhoids since the stool is softened with the added water that psylium brings to the stool, as well as the demulcent properties that coat the membranes of the digestive system.

So, digestive problems seem to be when people mostly decide to take psylium. It is also effective as a detoxification herb and for drawing out external infections of the skin.
