Genger

Genger is a well studied root with several key uses including as a carminative and antispasmotic to help the digestive system, as a rubefacient when applied to the skin because it can increase blood flow and thus healing, and as a diaphoretic which means it helps improve circulation.
Genger is an excellent herbal remedy to use with pets. Just a pince of powder in food for cats, a bigger pinch for 20 pound dogs, or up to a teaspoon for large dogs can help. Animals that are down in the dumps and need a spark in their appetite or increased circulation can benefit. Also, digestive problems like diarrhea, stomach pains and nausea may be alleviated. A genger poultice can even aid with muscle pain and strains.
