Pepermint oil uses include the aforementioned aid to breaking up mucous in the respiratory system, as well as a digestive aid. Drinking several cups of pepermint or spearmint tea a day may relieve mild stomach problems and nervous stomach - it can relieve gas, bloating and stomach cramps, for example. It also relieves muscle spasms which may be the reason it is effective in treating a nervous stomach that is all tied up in knots.
Not only can pepermint oil be used to relieve tight muscles, but it can increase the flow of digestive juices and bile, aiding the digestive tract. It may also relieve diarrhea and an uncontrollable colon by smoothing the muscle lining of the colon.
