Taken normally and at standard doses pepermint oil is a safe herb. However, serious effects can occur using this oil as a remedy and not using it correctly so beware of the dangers and dosages. Pepermint oil can be a toxic substance to one's kidneys and could even cause death if there is an overload to the system. Other cautions are nausea, loss of appetite, vertigo and heart problems.
As with many herbs, there are handfuls of people that react to the usually safe doses of the herbs so continue to pay attention to how your body responds to the remedies you use. People have reported mild gastrointestinal problems and allergic reactions when using pepermint oil.
